Sage Sequoia Nursery

Our story

Sage Sequoia Nursery began as a small bench project for friends who kept losing balcony plants to guesswork. We rented a narrow yard on Oak Street, built shade cloth that could survive wind, and learned which cultivars actually held up through KL’s heat and sudden rain. The name ties our domain stem to the nursery work we do every day: patient growth, woody structure, and green shelves that feel calm rather than chaotic.

Today the floor still runs on morning inspection, handwritten tags, and conversations that start with “how much sun do you get?” rather than slogans. We are not a big-box garden centre. We are a city nursery that prefers fewer, healthier plants over crowded tables of impulse stock.

Neighbours stop by for soil top-ups and honest answers. Landscapers collect reserved carts at the side gate. Students ask about internships; when we have capacity, we teach watering and potting basics without pretending the work is glamorous.

If you visit, say hello at the front table. Tell us what failed last season. We will help you choose something that fits the life you actually live in Kuala Lumpur—not the garden you saw in a temperate climate magazine.
